i am 11 years old and are 4'7. at school we are learning about puberty and they had this talk with the girls about there period and then they gave us pads. so later that day i went out and bought pads for night and day and panty liners. i also bought razors, shaving cream, bras, and anti itch cream. how should i tell my mom? and when will i get my period? P.S. there are discharges in my underwear?

Period Stories?

well.... on the 4th day of my first period i went to the move theater going to see Get Smart. When i first left the house i was going to wear a tampon but decided not to because my flow was very light so instead i wore a thin pad (not a panty liner) it was all good and there were a few drops of blood. So about an hour later i have to go pee, i brought 50 cents just in case to buy a new pad. When i pull down my panties my pad it completely soaked! (so much for being light) And i just HAD to be wearing white shorts that night. then i left the stall looking for a pad dispenser...GUESS WHAT? there wasnt one! ugh so i just had to sit and watch the movie while i was really wet and uncomfortable. thank god i had a purse to hold in front of my but so no one would see the stain. :'(

i have two stories-
#1: i was at a swim party for my swim team. i wore a tampon because my flow was normal. around 5 or 6 pm, i started getting cramps, they were light. all the kids went up and sat down on the side of the pool for awards, and when i stood up to get my award, my "friend" said: what is that on your towel? i looked down and my towel was literally soaked with blood. i was freaking out and i ran to my mom and we had to leave. but by the time we made it to the front of the crowd, most of the people noticed a huge spot of blood on my towel.
#2: i was at my friends lake house at her birthday party. that morning while i was packing i decided i wouldnt need pads. (this was my first period) her uncle had gotten in a car accident that day, so my friends mom stayed at the hospital with him. we went out the dinner and i went to the bathroom. when i wiped i noticed blood on the toilet paper but thought nothing of it. when we got back to her house everyone went outside to roast smores. i came inside to warm up with one of my best friends and went to the bathroom. this time there was so much blood! i put some toilet paper in my underwear while my friend and i went searching for pads. well, we went through my friends moms drawers and only found tampons! so i had to sleep with toilet paper in my bloody underwear because i didnt bring another pair of undies! - theres my stories

Boy Shorts?????????????????????

I've never tried any kind of underwear aside from just normal stuff, so I figured that I'd try something different. I don't really like the idea of wearing a thong, so I figured boy shorts might be okay. But now, I have some questions.:

No they constantly ride up your rear end! you will ahve a much more noticible panty line even with jeans. yes you can wear a pad, but you will feel like you have a whole pilliow between your legs because of the extra material. I vote no.

ahh dont worry,
just go to the store and get like pads, you know. read the pack and check whether its pads or liners.
umm, get the brand "libra" or "carefree", actually anything will do. just go into the store and get something with the words "pad" on the pack. (lol my explanation is lovely). since you just got your period, get the "regular" pads and see how you go.

btw, toilet papar is really bad, dont use it ! its to wipe your butt not absorb period stuff.

if you have any trouble, just ask your mum or an adult. im sure they'll be glad to help.

I think you should bring like 3 outfits to be safe.. normally you stay 2 to 2 and a half days at the hospital i had to stay for 5 due to complications but just in case i would bring like 3 better safe than sorry..everything u packed already is good and that's basically all you need except for the baby's stuff..congrats and good luck!
