Corsets and Crinolines is a study of the changing shapes of women''s dress and how these were produced, how simple laced bodices became corsets of cane, whale-bone and steel, while padding at shoulders and hips gave way to the structures of farthingales, hoops and bustles. Added are contemporary tailors and dressmakers accounts, illustrations, index, a glossary of terms and materials, appendices on the repair and manufacture of corsets and crinolines.
Patterns, techniques and history of over 20 historically correct corsets, ranging from the 1750s to 1950, from boned corsets, ribbon corsets and basques to the more recent 1949 satin corsets. Each project includes the pattern, a finished drawing and close-up photography of the historic corset. For those new to dressmaking there are two step-by-step projects - one for a hand-stitched pre-1850 corset and one for a machine-stitched post-1850 corset - that take you through the whole method.

This study covers the latent demand outlook for womens and girls corsets, girdles, and combinations made from purchased fabrics excluding surgical corsets across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of its prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-`-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for womens and girls corsets, girdles, and combinations made from purchased fabrics excluding surgical corsets. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.

and I want to make it look as close to the Batman Returns costume as possible (I'm going to a Tim Burton theme costume party!)
I am no seamstress, but, can I stitch onto Vinyl, or would it break? If not, could I use a glue gun on it? I already have high boots and am working on finding a corset, any ideas?
Thanks!!
N*O* Do NOT use a glue gun it will melt the plastic.
There is a glue available at craft stores specifically for vinyl and plastic that will work great for what you want to do!
