Wedding dress alteration question?
Hi, my dress is a very simple, silk satin trumpet gown. It was a sample gown and it is a size too big. I have some questions about alterations, and would love your input on any and all! First, can I ask them to de-emphasize the trumpet when I get it altered? I love the trumpet silhouette but I want it to be very tasteful. There is extra fabric since it is too big. Will it look bad with silk satin to have it a little flowy? Second, it is strapless with a slight curved neckline. I love curved necklines and would like to make it more dramatic. The girl at the store said I could definitely make a sweetheart with rouching but I'd have to talk to the seamstress about making it more curved. It has some boning in it, so I don't know if that factors in. (Of course I'll ask the seamstress all this when I go for fittings, but in the meantime I'd love to start envisioning it! 
)
I would really just see if it is possible with a seamstress. (it sounds like it all is though). If it is what you want do it!!!

i'm definitely your junior but i only appreciate music from your era (not trying to call you old!). i'd have loved to experience the music you got to experience when you were my age. music today is trash for the most part. every now and then a decent artist comes along but you had the Satisfaction, pun intended, of hearing new songs from artists i can download the whole libraries of in minutes. when i like an artist and they come out with something new its always so exciting. i'm sure it was infinitely more exciting when the artist actually had as much talent as the musicians of your teen years. but, on to your question, i absolutely love hearing The Hollies – Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, The Doors – Riders on the Storm, and anything Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits. something about how music plays on the radio beats out even headphones.
